Rules of the Andover TownCentral Forum


This forum is provided free of charge to anyone who wishes to visit and/or contribute, the only condition being that you have read, understand, and agree to the following rules.


General Forum Etiquette

  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.

  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.

  • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

  • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email system to spam other members.

  • We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate our community standards. The forum administrator shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

  • Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

  • We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules.

  • Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.


Keep posts 'On Topic'

This forum has been split into many categories, please try to find the most appropriate category for your post before posting in 'General', if you have a category suggestion, please let us know.

Please keep replies in line with the topic of the original post, off topic replies may be treated as spam and be deleted, continuing deviation from the original topic will result in the thread being locked. You will then be welcome to start a new thread to continue your new topic of discussion.

Persistent off-topic posters will be treated as no more than 'spammers' and will have their account closed and their I.P banned.


Images in Posts

We are now allowing images in posts on this forum, please do not abuse this privilege!!

We kindly ask that you DO NOT link to images on external sites WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. This is very important as we will be in trouble for all kinds of copyright infringement if we start hotlinking. Please note that this WILL be monitored, and anybody breaking this rule will lose 500 posts from their post count, and/or receive some other public humiliation!!

If you must use an image from another site, please either get the copyright owners, and website owners permission first, or download the image yourself, and upload it to a free image hosting provider such as PhotoBucket (http://www.photobucket.com), MSN Spaces (http://spaces.msn.com), Yahoo Photos (http://photos.yahoo.com) or ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us) and use that URL as the link, just please do not link direct from another site, unless it is your own site of course.

Please also kindly remember that children visit this forum, this means no photos that would, if they were a movie, be more than a PG. That means no violence, no blood/gore, no swearwords, no sex, no nudity.


Signature Size Limits

All signatures should not exceed the following size limits, and you can't have both text and images:

  • For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)

  • Do not use images with large text to bypass the previous item

  • For images in signatures: 1 image up to 300 pixels wide, 125 pixels tall and 20k in size

  • Animated images in sigs are not allowed


Advertising Services

We do not allow people to post threads or to send emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products or services. Explicit advertising and soliciting in signatures is also prohibited.
